Size zero is no longer going to turn heads in Bollyville. It's time to celebrate the curves as B-Town beauties proudly flaunt their hourglass figures in forthcoming flicks! The Hindi film heroine who's always had the hourglass figure had shrunk to a leaner, skinner shape to match up to international beauty and fashion trends. In late 2010, Hollywood and the global fashion world's sudden tilt towards curvy women found ample followers back home in Mumbai tinseltown.
Being curvy is 'in'
Vidya Balan, Sonakshi Sinha, Kangana Ranaut, Minissha Lamba, Amisha Patel and Kareena Kapoor are now confidently showing off their recently acquired curves, proving that curvy is the new black in glambiz. Kangana who's added some kilos first for Tanu Weds Manu (TWM) and Rascals says, "Gaining weight actually helped my character in TWM look convincing. For Rascals, David Dhawan felt that I should retain my curves and look toned than become malnourished to fit into a bikini."
The famous Indian body type
Indian outfits look better on curvy bodies and a large chunk of ads portray women with curvy bodies because they have a better connect with the audience. Says fashion designer Rocky S, "The Indian body type has always been curvy, while most women die to have curvy figures abroad. Many women try to hide and cover up their curves in loose fitting clothes, now is the time to embrace the curves and show off your most envied assets, your perfect proportions."

Since curvy figures are cool, Bollywood's bindaas babes are no longer wary of their shapely forms either. Agrees actor Sonakshi Sinha, who redefined that curves are much coveted post Dabangg, is every advertiser's favourite because she epitomises the true Indian woman. Sonakshi who's toning her body for an item number in Farah Khan's Joker, says, "I work hard to maintain myself and want to look perfect, but I do not believe in being thin. Plus, if I have been accepted for the way I look, why would I do anything to change it?"
Indian women's USP!
Often criticized for her weight and dressing sense, Vidya Balan is looking curvy for her role in Milan Luthria's biopic on southern siren Silk Smitha, Dirty Picture. Vidya has said on record that she "likes" her curves. Minissha Lamba who underwent a starving-diet for Sanjay Gadhvi's Kidnap says that she "ate boiled food and deprived myself but soon I realized that what will eventually work is a healthy body and a happy face. Genetically, I am curvy, so why should I try to change that? Indian women are supposed to be curvy and that makes us unique."http://www.indiatimes.com/
